The moment a caller says yes is the moment they are most willing to pay, and it is the moment every business lets go of. Talkify can now take a card payment during the call: the agent texts a secure Windcave payment link, the caller pays on the handset they are talking on, and the agent says "that has gone through, you are booked for the morning" before anyone hangs up.
Everything the payment link does, and every rail it runs on.
Six things happen inside about a minute, and nobody in your office does any of them.
Not at the start of the call and not in an email the next morning. The agent raises the payment once the job is agreed, in wording you wrote, because that is the ninety seconds where a deposit is an easy yes rather than a favour you are asking for.
A short message with your business name, the amount and a link, sent to the number they are ringing from. They do not have to write anything down, find an email, or remember to do it later. It is on the screen of the phone against their ear.
Before anything is entered, the page shows who is being paid and how much. There are no extras added on the page, because the amount came from your settings and nowhere else. Then it hands over to Windcave.
On Windcave's own hosted payment page, on Windcave's systems, under Windcave's PCI compliance. Most callers use the card already saved in their phone and are back on the call in twenty seconds.
The caller says "done". The agent asks our server, our server asks Windcave, and the answer comes back as fact: paid and the amount, declined, or not completed yet. If it declined, the agent says so and offers to send it again.
The booking is confirmed on the call, the confirmation text goes out, and the whole thing, the amount, the outcome and the message, is on the call record. If the payment was against an invoice, that invoice gets a note in Xero.
Two screens, both of them boring on purpose. A payment nobody has to think about is a payment that gets made.

Authored by you, not composed by the agent, which is the same rule every other text your agent sends obeys. The short link keeps it to one message so it arrives as one, and it stops working half an hour after it was sent.
Payments are set up on the Live actions card in the agent builder, alongside everything else your agent is allowed to do. Nothing here is decided in the moment by an AI.
Every action is either a fixed figure, which is what a deposit or a callout fee usually is, or an amount the agent may agree between a floor and a ceiling you chose. There is no free-form option, so the model has no way to arrive at a number you did not sanction.
You write the message the caller receives and the line the agent uses to offer the payment. The agent never composes the text itself, which is the same rule that governs every other link it sends.
A deposit only once a booking is agreed. An invoice payment only on a reminder call. Each action carries its own trigger, so the agent is not offering to take money in the middle of a call about something else.
An agent with no live actions authored has no payment ability at all. It is not an ability held back in the prompt; it is simply not attached to that agent, so no caller can talk it into one.
One payment link per action per call, expiring half an hour after it is sent. A live payment link should not be sitting in somebody's messages a fortnight later, so it stops working and the page says why.
The amount, the status, the message and the outcome are on the call record and in your communications log, next to the transcript, so a disputed payment is a thing you can go and read rather than argue about.
Money on a phone call is exactly where a supplier should be specific rather than reassuring, so here is the specific version.
No card number is ever spoken on the call, read back, typed by us or stored by us. The link opens Windcave's hosted payment page and the card is entered there, on their systems, under their PCI compliance. What comes back to us is a session identifier, an amount and a status. If a caller starts reading a card number out anyway, the agent stops them and points them at the link.
When a caller says they are done, the agent does not take their word for it and does not take the message the gateway pushed at us for it either. We re-fetch the payment session from Windcave and answer with what Windcave says. Declined is reported as declined and not yet finished is reported as not yet finished, out loud, on the call.
The agent has no way to charge an amount you did not author, no way to go above a ceiling you set, and no way to take a payment for something you never set up. A caller insisting the deposit is different gets told to speak to you, not charged a different number.
Refunds, voids and disputes stay in your Windcave account with a person in front of them. The agent takes payments and reports on them. That is the whole of its authority over your money.
A reminder call that gets a promise is half a result. A reminder call that gets paid is the whole one.
Connected to your Xero, the agent already rings the invoices that have gone past due, in your name and your wording, and notes the outcome on the invoice. With a payment action authored, the call no longer has to end at "I will sort it Friday": the agent offers to text the link there and then, and Friday becomes now. See how invoice chasing works, or what else the Xero connection does.
When a payment against an invoice settles, a note goes onto that invoice's history in your Xero saying it was paid on the call and for how much, and an email goes to your accounts address. We are deliberately precise about the limit: we write the note and send the email, we do not create a Xero payment record, because that needs a bank account mapping we do not ask you for. A person still reconciles it, which is where invoice truth belongs.
Talkify is never in the card's path. Windcave issues the hosted payment page, takes the details and holds them under their own compliance, and we hold the session identifier they give us, the amount and the status. There is no card data in our database to lose.
You paste Windcave's online REST username and key into Talkify once and they are stored encrypted. They are the online e-commerce credentials, issued separately from any EFTPOS terminal credentials you hold, so ask Windcave for Hosted Payment Page REST access specifically.
New Zealand numbers are answered in New Zealand data centres and Australian numbers in Australia. Audio, transcripts and call details are encrypted at rest with AES-256, in line with the Privacy Act.
Payments settle into your own Windcave merchant account on your own agreement. We take no percentage, charge no per-payment fee and never sit between you and your takings. The only thing we bill is the text, like any other text your agent sends.
Nobody should find out where the edge of a feature is by walking off it on a call with a customer, so here is where ours is.
Windcave payments are in early access. The whole loop is built and proven end to end on a real phone call: the agent offers, the text goes out, the page takes the payment and the agent confirms it out loud before the call ends. What has not happened yet is a live card payment for a paying customer, because you would be the first, and we would rather tell you that here than let you work it out later.
Safely, and in your own time. There is a simulated mode that needs no Windcave account at all, where the payment page is a clearly labelled test page and the agent reports the result as a test, which means you can hear the entire thing happen on a real call to your own number before you commit to anything. Then Windcave's test environment once they issue your sandbox credentials. Then live, when you are satisfied and not before.
If taking deposits on the phone would change your week, put your name down. We will set it up with you, watch the first ones go through together, and fix what needs fixing while it is still small.
Ring our agent and put it through its paces. Change your mind halfway, talk over it, ask it something it will not know. Most people ring expecting a robot and hang up having had a conversation. No sign-up, no card, answering around the clock.
